digg - Al-Jazeera English Channel 24/7 on Nov 15I was an early adopter of digg.com, the brainchild of Kevin Rose formerly of the defunct TechTV, a great channel killed by a Comcast acquisition. I loved the innovation that allowed the users of the site to add stories and commentary, and then allowed other users to Digg the story if they thought it was of value. It truly was a brilliant concept. Sadly as time has past, many users of Digg have become abusers, and the value of Digg has started to wane.
The story I have included with this post is about the debut of the Al-Jazeera english channel. The propaganda channel favored by the enemies of the United States that showed, amongst other things, American's being beheaded, and every tirade video the Al-Qaeda can produce, will now be available in english. That would be disturbing enough, now add to that the extremist left wing cabal that now controls Digg and it spells the deathblow of a once great website. No rational thinking person, be they Republican, Democrat, or Independent, would call Al-Jazeera fair. Yet if you read the comments made by the leftist Digg cabal you would think Al-Jazeera is fair and balanced and that every news channel from CNN to Fox News is propaganda. What adds to the cabal's power is the system added in later to Digg that allows users to Digg down or up individual comments. This has given great power to the anti-American cabal as they prop up their own comments and bury any comments of dissent. Since the default view of a Digg story will not show you and comment with -4 Diggs or more, they very handily control the discourse like the socialists they so admire. All speech is free as long as you agree with them.
With control of the discourse in the hands of an extremist minority the days of Digg are most certainly numbered. It is not surprising to me that Kevin Rose is now shopping Digg around to companies like News Corp. hoping that they will offer 150 million dollars or more for the site. Hoping that he can cash in with a well deserved pay day for the greatness that once was Digg without having to deal with the bubble that is soon to burst if major changes are not implemented. Can Digg be saved? Only time will tell. It will take a lot of hard work , and it will take Kevin, is he willing to invest the time in excising the power of the cabal? We shall see.
